Heavenly Hot Dogs Mission for Zambia
Donation protected
Heavenly Hot Dogs is owned and ran by River, who is 10 years old! River has a passion for food and loves to cook! He has researched for months about this adventure. His original desire was a taco truck. We decided as a family to start smaller with the Hot Dog cart. He has big dreams for the future of his food businesses. Summer of 2018, River started a fresh squeezed lemonade stand. Any donations he receives go to Africa missions. In the last year River's fund raising efforts were able to purchase 100 chickens for an orphanage in Uganda to raise and harvest. They were also able to plant a 2 acre maize field from his donation! The organization we have worked with so far has given River a list of options on how his money is spent. Both times he chose options that would allow them to continually be self sustainable. River is wise beyond his years, but...is still a 10 year old boy...and when the pool is calling his name he calls it a day!
The other goal is to dig a well, the cost for this is $4,000. This would provide the whole village with the essential water needed for day to day life.
What do your donations go towards?
Good morning! This is Janelle, River's mom. I will be heading to Zambia in August for a missions trip. I have asked my hosts in Zambia to give River a list of options for what his missions fund can go towards this time. Their current needs are food and school supplies. Zambia is in a drought, so their fields will not produce. This means they go to other parts of the country to purchase already harvested maize corn. They can feed an entire village for $500. They also need $200 for school supplies. When I told River of these options and what he would like his money to go towards...his response was, "I will do both". I love this kids heart. So, he will be working to raise at least $700 to send with me on this trip to help in these areas.
He always has people ask about where his money goes, so I thought I would share this morning on where he has decided to donate.
Thank you all for supporting River's dreams!
