Sonia From Heavenly Hills Animal Sanctuary Needs Your Help

Hi everyone!

My name is Stephanie and I am a foster for Heavenly Hills Animals Sanctuary in London, Ontario. HH is run by Sonia Kastanis Gomez.

Sonia has fosters all over London and surrounding areas and rescues hundreds of cats/kittens a year. Those that know her know that there isn’t a single day that she doesn’t dedicate to the rescue from the morning until the night.

That brings me to this go fund me.

On November 6 when driving home Sonia was in a bad car accident. She was hit from behind by a suspected distracted driver going 80+kmr. This caused her vehicle to be pushed into oncoming traffic where she was again hit head on by an oncoming truck.

Sonia had to be cut out of her vehicle and has since had surgery to repair one of her injuries. She’s in quite a bit of pain and truly feels lucky to be alive.

This fundraiser is to help Sonia. Sonia not only handles intakes. She also brings food and supplies to fosters daily as well as transports cats and kittens for care they need. I honestly don’t know how she gets it all done every single day but that’s a true testament to her character.

Due to her injuries other arrangements will be made for these duties. And this is being sorted out as we speak.

Those who follow Sonia also know that Sonia is in the middle of constructing a building as to house not only our supplies but to give her space for emergencies that come in before they head to foster. And a place for volunteers to go and care for kittens. She has been working hard to get the cement laid and ready for the build.

Lets help her during this difficult time so that she doesn’t have to worry about her needs or the rescue during her recovery. Sonia is expected to need a few months to recover. Please help if you can.
