Heaven Just Got Brighter With Joddi's Presence

On the night of April 28, 2021 God called home one of his beloved, Ferdinand ‘Joddi’ Andaya. A few weeks prior, he suffered a hemorrhagic stroke, which resulted in a craniotomy. At that time, his medical team deemed it best to place him in a medically induced coma to further observe his recovery journey. After several consultations with neurosurgeons and specialists, the family came to an arduous decision to place him under comfort care. Though no one can actually prepare for such a life changing event, Grace braced herself alongside his parents and the rest of the family and willingly offered their faith and trust in the Lord God Almighty, knowingly well that His will be done. Succeeding the removal of tubes and lines, and discontinuing most medications, Grace, accompanied by Tito Ferdy and Tita Cristy, devoted those last days beside Joddi, staying every night to ensure the presence of loved ones, even during his last breath and final moments here on earth…and on that night, Heaven got even brighter as God brought Joddi amidst celestial beings in His kingdom.

Days following his expiration, many friends and loved ones, both near and far, from the past and to the present shared their personal testimony and experiences with our dear Joddi and it brought back so many memories, from his love of hats and his weakness to shoes, his fondness of cars and passion for music, his loyalty to friends and easy going personality.

I’d like to share a few words from one of his dear friends, Mari, who is like a sister to him,

“He had such a big heart and always watched out for us when we'd go out, he was our big bro and our  protector.. And he was so funny and silly and always joking around and making everyone around him laugh..I miss that ”

Joddi is survived by his parents, Ferdy and Cristy, his brother Jason and family, his amazing, loving and caring wife, Grace, his charming, captivating, precious children, Damian, Dominic, Jonathan, Lauryn, and Leslie. Not only will he live through his children, but he will live on through those that are a recipient to his tissue as he has offered his own flesh and blood to help those who are in need.
