Hi everyone, I'm Rich and my eldest son plays for a relatively new junior team at Heaton Stannington FC in the Northumberland FA's under 9s league. The club has received sponsorship to cover the kit that the team will be playing in, but I am now looking to fundraise some much needed funds to purchase some training kit, to give the kids that are part of the club the best experience possible.

As part of this, I will be taking part in the Kielder Marathon on 5th October, and given it was 9years since I ran the same race and I'm nowhere near as fit, just finishing this year will be an accomplishment! I've chosen to take the opportunity to take on this challenge and support my local club's junior team and further cement the great community feeling that we have within the team, the juniors section, and the club as a whole. Setting a target of 1p (£0.01) per metre means a fundraising target of £420!!

I appreciate that times are hard and costs are increasing across the board, however any little contribution to this fundraiser would be gratefully received by the club, and more importantly, by the kids in the junior teams.

The club are setup as a CASC (Community Amateur Sports Club) rather than a charity and hence the request on here for funds. All amounts will be given to the club (less any fees charged by GoFundMe - please consider covering these if you can so that as much as possible goes to the cause), and will be ringfenced for the purposes of purchasing training equipment, and if there was to be any surplus above the required money then this would go towards club branded training kits and cold-weather clothing (jumpers, hats, gloves etc) for the kids in the team.
