Heaton School Eye Gaze

Donation protected
Hi, I’m Madhusmita, 46-year-old mother of 2 teenage boys and I’m currently training for my 42nd full marathon in Manchester.

Alongside this, I work as a Special Educational Needs teacher at Heaton Special School in Stockport. Through my work, I see every day just how vital proper funding is to provide essential resources for our pupils.

Because of this, I’ve decided to raise funds for the school to help purchase a new eye gaze device.

For pupils who cannot speak or use their hands, this technology can be life-changing. An Eye Gaze device allows them to control a computer or communication device using only their eye movements.
Through this technology they can communicate with teachers, talk to their friends, express their needs, learn, and interact with the world around them.

These devices are life-changing for pupils with conditions such as Motor Neurone Disease (MND) / ALS, Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Spinal cord injuries, Rett Syndrome and Stroke-related disabilities

To support this cause, I will once again be running a full marathon in a six-yard silk saree, while also aiming to significantly improve my time.

Most of my training takes place at 4am, before my children wake up and before I head to work.

If you’re able to, please consider donating whatever you can. Your support will help provide these pupils with greater independence, communication, and comfort in their daily lives.

Thank you so much for your support.
