Heath's Recovery: Surgery and Lost Wages

Friends and Family, as ya’ll know in the past month Cole has had two surgical dental procedures and on Easter Sunday Heath broke his leg and ankle. I couldn’t lift him up by myself so I had to call an ambulance. They put a temporary leg splint on but our hospital is not equipped to handle this situations. After, 5 trips to Mobile this week between appointments with surgeons, labs, ekg etc he finally was able to have surgery yesterday and is recovering at home. They haven’t give me a date on when he can drive or return to work. They said he can do nothing but keep it elevated and rest until his follow-up appointment on May 12. They did say the total recovery time until he’s back to 100% is 4 months. But I’m really hoping and praying he can go to work and drive after that May 12 appointment.

We both have good jobs and work hard for our family. We have good insurance but it doesn’t cover everything. With things as high as they are we didn’t have very much of a savings and I’ve had to spend that during all this.

Cole’s dental procedures were $500. His medicines were over $100. Insurance wouldn’t cover one of them. Heaths er visit and surgery copays were $500, medicines were over $200. And again insurance wouldn’t cover one of them.

Worst thing for us is him missing 3 weeks, possibly more, of work. He didn’t have but a day or two sick days left until July. Missing those paychecks will be devastating for us. There will be follow up appointments too and physical therapy. Unsure yet what bills will be coming in from all this. I know for sure i will get one from the ambulance.

We’ve been hit hard and I know God will provide. I don’t like asking for help but I know that is pride and I need to let that go cause we do very much need some help right now. Times are hard for everyone. You can support us the most by praying for us and sharing our story.
