Funeral Expenses & Kids Savings
On January 14, 2016 at approximately 6 am a fire ignited in the kitchen of Heather's apartment. Heather's bedroom was sectioned off by the kitchen, with her children and mother on the other end of the apartment. The apartment was on the top floor of a duplex where her Uncle's mother and other family members resided in the lower apartment. The bottom apartment was damaged by water, where the top was significantly damaged by smoke and fire. All are displaced and being housed by Red Cross until better accommodations can be made. Heather's boyfriend is listed as in critical condition at this time.
Heather tragically lost her precious life hours after being pulled from the house fire, leaving her two young children without a mother. Without any money in trust for those babies, having inactive fathers, and without having a way to cover funeral costs, we seek assistance from those who are able to contribute.
Heather had the ability to befriend anyone who crossed her path and was the light in the eyes of all who loved her. Speaking from a personal standpoint, I can attest to the fact that this woman had thousands of friends. Whether they be buddies she followed concert tours with, to her solid regulars (whether they be in Syracuse or GlensFalls). She had the inherent ability to make anyone feel automatically comfortable around her. She transcended all stereotypes and could easily maneuver her way from group to group with a multitude of friends in each. She created, built, and maintained these friendships; all the while ensuring loyalty and devotion to each and every one.
It is such a profound tragedy to lose someone with that much character, heart, and with that much soul. So many will feel the impact of her loss and hopefully will be present at her memorial gathering to be held in GlensFalls and her funeral services soon to be held in Syracuse.
Every little bit helps. If we could all unite as one and help meet this goal, we can ensure that Heather gets the services she deserves and that her boys have accounts set up in their names and in her honor. Her boys were her life.
We thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity during this difficult time.
