On the evening of April 12, 2021, Heather Ferguson suffered a traumatic brain injury.  She was shot in the head and was brought to the nearest trauma center, which thankfully, saved her life.  Initially the call came in as a 911 call for an attempted suicide.  Anybody who knows Heather believed this to not be the case, as she has two children that she cares deeply for.  A two-week investigation resulted in attempted murder charges being brought against the suspect, who is now in jail. 
     
Heather has a long road ahead of her in recovery. Her end goal is to be strong enough to mentally and physically take care of her children again and be reunited. She has had one surgery so far, out of many obstacles that are in her journey to recovery.  She had a  right craniectomy,  and is in rehab until we can move forward with the next step in recovery.  Eventually she will need a 2nd and 3rd surgery.

     Once Heather is  medically stable, she will need  a 2nd surgery to put her skull back in place. Which after she recovers from that she will then be with her parents who will be able to help her through this long journey she has a head of her. Heather will need brain rehabilitation including physical, occupational, and speech therapy.

        Heather is one hell of a fighter! Heather and her family will get through this day by day, thanks to her family and friends.

We ask that you all continue to pray for Heather and her children, and please pray that justice is fully served.  So far, the prayers are working, and Heather and her entire family are truly grateful for the outpouring of support and kindness.  Heather truly is making good progress, but again, the road will be a long one. Any donations given will be handled by her sister Sarah.  These donations will assist her family with the on going financial needs for Heather.
