Twenty-two days. That is how long Heather fought in ICU following a devastating ruptured aneurysm (SAH). After emergency surgeries and critical setbacks, Heather is here, alive - a true miracle!

While Heather was insured and her policy covered the immediate emergency intervention, the nature of her condition required weeks of intensive, life-saving care. This has left Yos and her family to manage a substantial financial gap for the hospitalization that saved her life. We are eternally grateful for that care, which has now paved the way for the vital transition phase she is in today.

The immediate crisis has passed, thankfully, but a quieter, lengthy battle has begun for Heather as she is now transitioning into an intensive rehabilitation and Home Care phase. This journey back to herself has no fixed timeline, and the ongoing costs for establishing a recovery-first environment are significant: specialised neuro-physiotherapy, professional nursing, clinical monitoring, medical equipment and specialist follow-ups.

To allow Yos and Heather's family to focus entirely on her daily care and recovery, Hearts for Heather will manage this account. 100% of funds (minus platform fees) will be transferred directly to Heather’s Indonesian account via Wise. While Heather’s full recovery has no fixed timeline, we are focusing on this critical first six months of high-intensity care. Our goal is to provide the specialized tools and professional support she needs during this vital period.
