Heather's Neck Surgery

As some of you may know, our dear friend Heather recently found out she needs Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion surgery (in layman's terms - neck surgery). Heather has been dealing with neck and back pain for several years and has seen numerous doctors, physical therapists and chiropractors to try to aleviate her pain, but the pain always persisted. After multiple consultations and seriously weighing the few options she was given, she made the difficult decision to have the surgery to prevent any further physical damage and suffering. She'll be undergoing the surgery on June 15.

What's Heather's current situation?
Heather recently traded her corporate graphic design job for an incredible and invaluable opportunity to work with a non-profit organization that she holds very dear to her heart, The Dinner Party. This organization began with the intent "to transform life after loss from an isolating experience into one marked by community support, candid conversation and forward movement." The non-profit has since expanded into The People's Supper, a concept that strives to bring people together, in an "aim to repair the breach in our interpersonal relationships across political, ideological and identity differences, leading to more civil civic discourse." We are so proud of Heather for finally being able to put her heart and her mind into something so meaningful and beneficial to our community! Unfortunately, because she left her corporate position, her healthcare premium has skyrocketed and she is working hard with contract jobs in an attempt to tackle this surgery without the massive financial burden it has brought along.
Heather will also face 2-3 weeks of recovery time, where she will be mostly bedridden, and she must wear a neck brace for at least six weeks. And if you know Heather, this will be a major change of pace from the busy, hustling lifestyle she's used to living.
How can we help?
Heather is going to need financial assistance to help cover the cost of her surgery. This comes during a transitional time for her in her life, and one simply can't plan enough for such unexpected setbacks.
