Heathers long term rehab

As many of you folks know my work rock, friend for years, compadre and all around beautiful person who has made all of Tom's Louisiana Kitchen possible, Heather, is in serious medical distress I cannot express how vital and important she has been for our success I am crushed....my soul hurts.

Heather is only 36 years old and has had a really rough time with her health her entire life related to her being born with only one kidney which only worked a half it’s normal capacity now she is bad.... really bad.... her kidney (singular) is at 18%, she has a heart infection, blood clots in her lungs, a severe blood infection.

The latest MRI has shown an abscess and tumor on her spine which has not only been causing severe pain but will also require surgery, the surgery is extremely tricky and dangerous and the complications are frightening which includes but is not limited to spinal cord compression, permanent, severe paralysis and nerve loss, extensive physical therapy and It may be life threatening.

the surgical team at Bethesda West is evaluating her to see if it is possible for them to do the surgery or if they have to send her to another hospital. She will also be having to go on Dialysis and on the list for a kidney transplant after the current medical emergency is “over”.

I have been paying for her health insurance, uncovered medication, cell phone, transportation to and from doctors’ visits, stocking her fridge as well as her transportation to and from work I have also paid her for 3 weeks of missed work days so far this year and I am happy to do it but it is impossible to know if or when she will be able to return to work.

I am creating this fundraiser to assist her in several ways for the next few months:

1) To cover her health insurance deductibles

2) To help pay her rent and her home bills

3) Assistance in what I am sure will be numerous other expenses in the next several months

4) To offer some assistance in loss of income
