With a tremendously aching heart, I share that my oldest sister, Heather Stern-Rowe, has passed away after an unimaginably hard-fought, three-year battle with cancer. As many know, Heather has always been a fighter—she exhausted every possible treatment, held onto hope with everything she had, and faced each challenge with a strength that only a mother’s love could fuel. Our family and her support team’s greatest concern is not just our own grief—it is ensuring that her two youngest children, Aidan and Alice, are wrapped in love and security as they face a future without their mom.

Parenting two children with special needs has been where Heather has thrived. She has always been their protector, their advocate and biggest cheerleader, and most importantly, their safe place. Every decision she made was to give them the best life possible. She wanted nothing more than to watch them grow up, to be there for every milestone, every late-night talk. Now, as she prepares to rest, we are doing everything in our power to honor her legacy by making sure her children have the stability, support, and care she would have wanted for them.

We are asking for help in providing financial relief and a safety net for Aidan and Alice as they navigate the unimaginable loss of their mother.

Immediate Needs for Aidan & Alice – Providing housing, food, clothing, medical care, and other essentials to ensure they have stability in the midst of this life-altering transition.
Funeral & Memorial Costs – Honoring Heather with the farewell she deserves, allowing her family, friends, and—most importantly—her children to say their final goodbyes with love and dignity.
Education & Future Support – Helping secure the opportunities Heather dreamed of for them, whether through schooling, extracurricular activities, or any path they choose to follow.
Mental Health & Grief Support – Ensuring Aidan and Alice have access to therapy, counseling, and resources to help them process their loss in a healthy, supported way.

No child should have to say goodbye to their mother so soon. While we cannot take away their pain, we can come together to lift them up, to remind them they are not alone, and to show them the love their mother would have wanted them to feel every single day.
