Heathers In Indianapolis- Fast Apple Artists!

Hey all-

 

It's Kelsey here. I am so excited to announce a summer project and the LAUNCH of my new production company: Fast Apple Artists!

 

Our mission is to bring both established and original works of theatre to the stages of New York City and Indiana by way of young artists and collaborators.

 

I wanted an opportunity to work on both sides of the table. This production started with an idea I had to put together a small cabaret performance for one night over the summer. It eventually developed into a creative project of wanting to try my hand at producing and directing, as well as performing in a show I love very dearly. I also knew I wanted to choose a show that would showcase young artists who are maybe at the beginning of their theatre careers. I am incredibly passionate about providing performance opportunities, and I hope that people get excited about what theater can look like in the hands of a new generation of creators and artists.

 

In the future, we hope to be able to provide support and opportunities for young artists in multiple locations across the county to continue developing new works as well as reimagining established pieces of theatre. This is just the beginning.

I love theatre in New York City and Indianapolis. They are two completely different entities entirely and both hold a special place in my heart. I want to bring the parts I love the most about each of them together to create something special.

I am so excited to announce that I will be directing and playing the role of Veronica in "Heathers" August 12-14th at The District Theatre in Indianapolis. This will be a fun and exciting education project and learning experience for me and everyone involved. I will be gathering some of my favorite artists from Indianapolis for this fun weekend of performances. Heathers The Musical is the darkly delicious story of Veronica Sawyer, a brainy, beautiful teenage misfit who hustles her way into the most powerful and ruthless clique at Westerberg High: the Heathers. But before she can get comfortable atop the high school food chain, Veronica falls in love with the dangerously sexy new kid J.D. When Heather Chandler, the Almighty, kicks her out of the group, Veronica decides to bite the bullet and kiss Heather’s aerobicized ass...but J.D. has another plan for that bullet.

 

Any money raised will be used to pay for different parts of this production, as well as helping to mount future projects in Indy and NYC: 

Rights to the show, paying the incredibly talented and skilled staff and musicians, costumes and props, etc.
