Heather's Fight: Health and Hope

Hello. My name is Jessica and I'm a friend of Heather Young. I am here to reach out to friends, family, and the community that she is such a huge contributor to. She is one of the most amazing humans and the type of person to go above and beyond for anyone around her, especially if you are part of her tribe. She is a hardworking, dedicated, single momma of 4 of the sweetest kids around. While showing up for school functions, volunteering, kids' sports/activities, working, and mom-ing, she has been secretly battling health issues for years now. It started with major cardiac issues requiring hospitalization and bed rest post-COVID. She is left with arrhythmia and deterioration of the septum in her heart. Since then, she has had tremendous undiagnosed abdominal pains for over 2 years now. Despite the pain and heavy bleeding, she quietly fought her battle while begging for help from healthcare professionals. After dozens of unsuccessful ER trips and uneventful specialist appointments, she finally met the right doctor who followed up and found a dangerously large mass wrapped in her lower intestines. She requires surgery immediately due to the extremely low iron levels from significant daily blood loss and lack of nutrients being absorbed in her intestines. She stopped working to prepare for surgery, which was canceled due to failing her pretesting for cardiac issues. Now having extra time off and zero income for 8 weeks, she is in quite the bind. She did find an anesthesiologist and cardiologist to clear her for surgery, which is scheduled next week. It is a very risky surgery to start with, not to mention having cardiac precautions! But at this point, it needs to be done for her to thrive again. So now requiring extra time off with no pay or short-term disability, adding surgical recovery time, and being the sole "Santa" of the household, our beautiful friend Heather is in quite the financial predicament! She needs not only prayers and positive vibes, but as much financial help as possible!
