Hey! My name is Heather, I'm originally from Norfolk but now live in London and aspire to be an actress.
After 4 long years of auditions I have finally been offered a place at Doreen Bird College of Dance, Music & Theatre Performance. I feel honoured and overjoyed that I have been offered a place at this highly prestigious school and can't wait for the real hard work to begin! To tell the truth it has been a battle to stay motivated after hearing the word 'NO' so many times, but the determination and sacrifice has really paid off and I can't let this opportunity fly by!
I will be studying the Pre-Professional Foundation Year where I hope to grow as a performer and then continue my studies in a 3 year degree. This course is geared to strengthen my dancing, singing and acting with a heavy focus on audition technique.
Musical Theatre is my passion; I have been performing from 7 years old and my love for the stage has grown ever since. From school plays to amateur musicals, some of my favourite roles include Bet in Oliver, Harry The Horse in Guys and Dolls, Nun 5 in Sister Act and Marty in Grease.
Although I'm keen to improve in my dance and acting, I feel that my singing has been my strongest trait so far. Having achieved Grade 8 in Vocals Performance (Rockschool) my voice has allowed me to front many pop/rock bands as a lead singer. I have also been a member and Vice Conductor in the rock choir 'Rockavox'. Being a Vice Conductor meant I could step up and teach harmonies to the group when the Main Conductor was unavailable. I have also been on a couple of music tours with 'Rockavox' to Paris and New York. Some of venues included Par du Champ de Mars (a park opposite the Eiffel Tower), Disneyland Paris, Val D’Europe Shopping centre, Trump Towers, Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum and BB Kings.
Completing the Pre-Professional Foundation Year at Bird College will bring me one step closer to the performer I one day aspire to be. Unfortunately for this type of course there is no funding or student loan I am able to apply for so am desparately trying to raise enough to cover my tuition fees! I'm currently working two jobs and holding fundraisers to save as much as I can but I still need your help. The course fee is £8,250 but as the course is full time any further donations would be appreciated as it will be hard to cover living expenses as opportunites for work will be limited once I enrol at Bird.
Thank you for visiting my page and reading my story. I am grateful for any time, donations or support throughout my journey and only hope I am able to return the favour one day. Lots of love!
