If you know Heather Bone, you know her to be an incredibly vibrant, loving person. Heather put herself through graduate school to become a Nurse Practitioner, she’s the single parent of a soon-to-be Marine, and a three time Hodgkin’s Disease survivor. After sending Hodgkin’s into remission, she has not wasted a single day. Heather is passionate about volunteering; devoting countless hours to multiple causes. She has traveled extensively, making friends each step of the way. Her love of hiking and the outdoors, has taken her all over the world… Often accompanied by her rambunctious and beloved French Bulldog, Biscuit.
Unfortunately, in the last six months, Heather has been having serious health problems that culminated with her collapsing while treating patients. After an extensive work-up, we learned she has a rare and complex form of Leukemia. Additionally, she will require open-heart surgery due to complications from her previous battles with cancer. Developing Leukemia after beating Hodgkin’s is unbelievably brutal, but as always, Heather has taken it in stride. She is the ultimate survivor who refuses to give up on life. Through it all, she’s never asked for help.
This time, though… She needs our help.
The course of this treatment will be painful and long. Heather has a strong support group of friends and family who are staying with her every step of the way, and she will not face this alone. However, even after working as a Nurse Practitioner, all the medical bills, coupled with not being able to work, have taken their toll financially. If you can contribute, please do. Anything and everything helps as we try to alleviate some of the strain off of this extraordinary woman while she again fights for her life.
Heather, her friends, and her family appreciate your support.
