Dear Friends,
As you may know our dear friend Heather has been diagnosed with nodular melanoma-a fast growing, aggressive form of skin cancer. She is scheduled for treatment and surgery at OHSU on 3/29/2020.
It was caught early and prognosis for full recovery is excellent.
AND-she will have to be off work the entire month of April in recovery. Heather is a self employed single mom that does not receive child support. She is her only source of income and if she doesn't work she cannot provide for her family. Like many crisis the timing is not great. With the coronavirus she is contemplating whether she should offer services during this time. In "normal" time she would of course press on but she has to respect the comfort of others and what is responsible.
Many of you have responded with your good thoughts, prayers ,
well wishes and offer to help. Each and every one is so
appreciated by Heather, her family and her Tribe.
AND — here is where the talk has to get very direct and very
honest. Heather is going to need our financial support.
To accomplish that, a GoFundMe website has been set up.
The uncertain time we are now in are impacting us all. Financial
and emotional resources are stretched without a doubt.
AND — your FINANCIAL contribution is critical. Consider the
amount that you would have spent on your hair appointment.
Could you make that as a contribution to Heather for her living
expenses for April and May to help get her back on her feet? Could you add a generous additional amount? Every single dollar counts. If you can’t make that amount, what can you do?
We will also establish another venue of support through Lotsa Helping Hands.com as a way to coordinate reaching out through child care, providing meals or other needed support. We will publish the link in the coming weeks and please visit the site and sign up for what you can do. We understand everyone is able to offer support in different ways so if money is an option, time, meals, child care, etc are so greatly appreciated.
If you prefer to drop off a check, please leave at Beth Caster’s
real estate office located at 220 NE 7th St, McMinnville Or 97128.
If no one is there, leave it in the secure mail slot. Please put it in
an envelope.
Thank you for your consideration and your help. We are all in this
together.
