Heather Sutton(Kreuzburg) was in a near fatal accident in March 25th of 2023. She is now in a Long Term Acute Care hospital in Mt Pleasant, SC. Heather suffered multiple bone fractures, severe internal injuries and several strokes as a result on the collision. She was in a coma for almost 6 weeks.
The accident occurred on a stretch of 17A that is known for speeding. She had been following a extremely large piece of farm or logging equipment for some time that was traveling about 20 mph. She peaked out to see if she could pass and was struck by a lifted pickup truck heading the other way. Her car was penitraited thru to the driver's door and tossed. She could not have been moving more then 25 mph at the time (picture of equipment and dash before accident). The force of the accident looks to be more than a 75-80 mph (20-25 mph + 55 mph speed limit) impact.
Her estranged husband is trying to sell the family home, in South Carolina, where she and the kids live while she is in the hospital. She will have no home to go back to when she recovers and her children will have no place to live. Her estranged husband has temporary custody in Virginia and he is supposed to bring the children down on a regular basis to she their mom. Without the house the kids have no place to stay.
We need the funds to cover medical expenses, buy the house from her ex, cover bills, legal expenses, and travel to and from South Carolina.
Her family has been down in S Carolina since the accident. We take turns to be there for her and the kids, and to take care of the pets (the pets stay in S Carolina when the kids are in Virginia).
