A fellow holoprosencephaly mom and Families for HoPE board member, Heather Rinard, has been courageously fighting cancer for the last 9 months. It has been a very difficult, painful road but she is doing everything in her power to stay here for her three gorgeous daughters and her wonderful husband Matthew.
Currently she is fighting in the hospital alone thanks to Covid-19 while her husband cares for their daughters Samantha, Isabelle and their special HPE daughter, Charlie Dawn. Although Matt's employer has been very supportive, he has been unable to work. Many of us live too far away to help care for their daughters and their home, but feel led to help this family during this extremely difficult time. That is why I have created this GoFundMe to help them with expenses and reduce some of Matt's stress. Although they are extremely humble, I am sure they appreciate anything you can do to help.
With all that being said, the one thing they would most appreciate is our prayers. Prayers for healing for Heather's tired body and for strength for Matt, Samantha, Isabelle, Charlie Dawn and her oldest son Gavin.

UPDATE: I am heartbroken to report that after a courageous battle, Heather passed away last night. She had been a light in this world even through this excruciating illness. She shared this journey with her fellow holoprosencephaly moms and friends with a smile on her face, until it was too much to bear. She was a beautiful woman of faith and although it gives me some peace knowing she is healed in heaven with Jesus, it does not take away the hole left on earth, especially for her family. Please continue to pray for Matt and all her children as they learn to navigate this temporary earthly home without their precious wife/mother.
I know she was greeted in heaven not only by Jesus, but all those she knew that went before her and the children with holoprosencephaly that are there to thank her for all she has done for our organization, Families for HoPE, and the other families around the world affected by HPE. Heather will be greatly missed!!!
