Honoring Heather Nix: Support for Her Family's Future
Bluffton, South Carolina has lost a light. Let's come together to carry it forward.
On August 6th, 2025, at just 44 years old, our beloved friend, mother, wife, and community
leader Heather Nix passed away after a courageous two-month battle with Glioblastoma (GBM), an aggressive form of brain cancer.
Heather was truly one of a kind—vivacious, fierce, full of joy and humor, deeply faithful, and endlessly kind. Her energy was contagious. Her heart was generous. She loved God, her family, her friends, her clients, and her Lowcountry community with everything she had.
Now, it’s our turn to love her back.
A Devastating Loss
Heather leaves behind her devoted husband Kenny, her three beautiful daughters Chandler,Rachel, and Samantha, and a life and business built on passion, faith, and connection.
Married since the age of 19, Heather and Kenny weathered every storm together—including the unimaginable.
Heather’s sudden passing is not only an emotional tragedy for the Nix family, but a financial one. As a successful Realtor and co-owner of Nix Flooring & Design, Heather was a pillar of her family’s support. Without her income, the coming months and years present a heavy burden.
The Purpose of This GoFundMe
This fundraiser is being launched by Thomas M. Kersey, a grateful friend and colleague of Heather to support Heather’s daughters in the most critical years of their lives—to help ease the financial strain on their household, cover tuition, create space for healing, and ensure their futures are filled with the same possibility, joy, and faith that Heather embodied.
Their youngest daughter, Sami, is currently a sophomore at Hilton Head Christian Academy (HHCA). Fittingly, the school’s theme this year is: “Fear Not.” Just like Heather—Fearless. Fierce. Faithful.
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” – Isaiah 41:10
Heather’s Legacy: More Than a REALTOR
Heather brought more than 7 years of experience and excellence to real estate. She brought warmth, truth, wisdom, and joy. She was known throughout Bluffton and Hilton Head Island not just as a professional—but as a connector, encourager, and advocate for her clients and fellow
Realtors.
She co-hosted the No Contingencies Podcast, worked side-by-side with her husband in design and renovation, and poured her heart into every project and relationship.
She was also known for deep authenticity, often sharing her hardest moments publicly to help others feel less alone. In her own words:
“This isn’t a story of tragedy. It’s actually beautiful. I’ve connected with people I haven’t talked to in literally years... We own NOTHING. I tried so hard to be a part of this ‘world’ that I lost
myself... Praise HIM!!!!!!”
How You Can Help
No amount is too small. Every dollar raised will go directly to supporting Kenny and the girls as they navigate this next chapter without Heather—providing stability, honoring her legacy, and allowing space for healing and growth.
Whether you're a friend, a past client, a fellow REALTOR, a church member, or someone touched by her story—you’re invited to give. And if you’re not in a place to donate, please share this page, offer prayers, and lift the Nix family in love.

In Heather’s Own Words:
“Hold your loved ones... I’ll never be that worldly girl again. Ever. Praise HIM!!!!!! I feel like George Bailey in It’s a Wonderful Life. I truly don’t deserve all this. It has filled my soul.”
Let’s help her family feel that same kind of love. Let’s fill their souls.
