Heather needs a hand.

The great poet laureate Dusty Rhodes once defined "Hard Times" as:

"[W]hen the textile workers around this country are out of work, they got 4 or 5 kids and can’t pay their wages, can’t buy their food.

Hard times are when the auto workers are out of work and they tell ‘em go home.

And hard times are when a man has worked at a job for thirty years, thirty years, and they give him a watch, kick him in the butt and say “hey a computer took your place, daddy”, that’s hard times! That’s hard times!"

If I had the chance, I would ask Dusty Rhodes:

Dusty, is it hard times when your wife has been tirelessly working towards getting a teaching degree, so she can make a difference to all the little childrens helping them learn about reading and science while SIMULTANEOUSLY working a miasma of lousy part-time joe jobs just to make ends meet and one quarter (one quarter!) away from graduating, welp, we ran out of money.

At this stage in the game, Heather is not permitted to have any kind of job while she is doing her student-teaching internship. She talked to the unemployment office and they told her to pound sand and in fact she owes them money for some reason that doesn't make any sense.

Dusty, does this sound like Hard Times? It sounds like Hard Times to me, Daddy.

We're looking for a little help to cover our bills, etc. from April until July.

I am working full time, but due to a couple hard-resets on my career, my income alone puts me right around the poverty line. Supporting a whole household? Eh...

So we need your help getting us through this final stretch. In this crazy mixed up world, we have a very real need for more education. Heather loves kids and science and her being able to finish this program would be a net positive for this world. Just a few bucks to help us out with bills for the next couple months until graduation in June.

Fingers crossed we can get Heather a temp job in the Summer until she starts teaching.

Flex goals? In the unlikely occurance that we make a little extra, that will go towards the $1,500 Heather is behind in tuition and maybe a brake job for our 1999 Volvo Of Despair.

With your help and a little bit of luck we can overcome Hard Times just like Dusty did when he beat Ric Flair.
