Hello, my name is Richard Hight. I am Heather Hight's oldest son. On May 3rd, my mother went into the ER and the next day had emergency surgery. What started off as stomach discomfort and pain, led to a severe health issue. After the surgery, she was admitted into the ICU and then the CCU. We started to believe she was getting better because she made it into the step-down unit. She was then transferred to another facility where she developed a severe infection and pneumonia. That lead us back into the ER, and then again into the ICU. We made it back to the original hospital where her surgeon performed a second, major, operation to redo the original work, clean the infected areas, as well as deal with issues not noticed during the first surgery. My mother is in bad shape, but the surgeon says this second surgery gives her a fighting shot to make it through this. If all goes well, she can expect a full recovery in about a year's time.

 

The road forward will be hard and slow going. My brother Rudy, our dad Aniceto, and I are dealing with this situation directly. We're holding it down and keeping each other strong, trying to make sure we're getting Mom the right care and being with her everyday. We've already been expressed so much love and care for my mother from family and friends. It warms our hearts and gives us strength. We are making sure Mom gets the best care available, that's what matters. We don't feel comfortable asking for donations but any help you can offer through this fundraiser will be directed into my mother's care. Thank you all so much❣️
