Help Heather & her family after a devastating house fire

Hi there,

On Sunday night, June 23rd, my mom Heather & her son Eligh lost their home in an apartment fire in Prestwick. Thankfully, they got out safely with the clothes on their back, their phones & their cat. The fire spread fast, and they watched their unit catch flame and their roof cave in.

Unfortunately all their belongings are a total loss and now have no home to go back to. They have no idea how long it will take to receive any support from insurance, let alone be able to get back on their feet again. They don't even have access to their vehicle as it is in the parkade under the building, and currently don't even know if their vehicle is salvageable. My mom had also just moved in her deceased parents furniture and belongings into her home and now has lost such important belongings that are irreplaceable.

I am creating this on behalf of my mom, Heather, as she is the strongest, most caring & loving woman I know, and I know she is struggling but still doesn't feel comfortable asking for help- even though now is when she needs it the most. She selflessly helps everyone day in and day out & now she needs the help & support for herself to get back on her feet after losing everything.

Donations will help go towards clothing, toiletries, meals, accommodations, missed work, and overall expenses of helping them get back on their feet.
