Hello everyone, my name is Sara. I have been best friends with Heather since I was 13 years olds. Our friendship has been stronger than family since day one. Heather is and always has been my backbone. Heather grew up in Oswego County and has contributed to multiple fundraisers over the years as well as organizing several. Helped multiple families and anyone In need. She’s the first person to lend a helping hand and I think as a community we can all lend a hand to someone so giving. 

On August 31th, Heather felt off balance (gravity was pulling her left and could not walk a straight line and her vision was blurry) over all not herself prompting her to seek emergency medical help. She thought it was a severe case of vertigo, After long hours in the emergency room in three different hospitals in the emerald coast area, the news of a brain tumor was now on the charts. Unsure of so many things Immediate brain surgery is the only option.

This leaves no time for childcare, financial planning or anything else one would plan for with 4 children. Heather and her family have lived in northwest Florida (Santa Rosa county) for the past 6 years which was decided to be able to give her a better life family. And it has! Heather’s brain tumor is a Pituitary adenoma. Causing her to slowly loose eye sight in her left eye due to it pressing on her optic nerve. Amongst many other issues. If she does not have this surgery she will loose eyesight due to the size being 2.5cm and growing. The surgery can last anywhere from 2-4 hours with opportunity for huge risks. Recovery can last up to 6 weeks total. (As any brain surgery is).  This would be financially devastating to the family.

 As of right now date for Surgery is set for September 19th. In this time we ask for prayers LOTS of them. Please share this everywhere you can. The Gebo’s need us all more than ever.
