Heather Climbs for Aunt Kath’s Cancer Care Campaign.

Hello,
I’m Heather and I’m climbing the three Yorkshire peaks (25 miles) on June 28th to raise as much money as possible in the name of my Aunty Kath for Jacqui’s million at Leeds Cancer Centre.

My wonderful Aunty Kath is currently battling terminal oesophageal cancer. While navigating her many appointments and treatments at the Bexley Wing Cancer Centre Leeds, she met up with Jacqui of Jacqui’s Million.

This seemed like fate, as Aunty Kath has always helped people, including all of our family and her friends. She heard what Jacqui was doing and her goal of “raising £1,000,000 for the Leeds Cancer Centre through the power of positive thinking”, and she wanted to help.
Jacqui was also a former choreographer for Yeadon Amateurs now Yeadon Theatre Company, which my Aunty is the treasurer of , so this was another thing they had in common - a love of the theatre.

She has already raised money through her theatre group, and donations totalling circa 1.5k and when I saw the positivity that came from that, it made me think.

A terminal cancer diagnosis can make everyone feel helpless (I definitely did). To watch someone you love go through this and know you can’t do anything to help them is really difficult. But I realised I can help; I too can spread positivity and raise money in my Aunty Kath's name for her chosen charity.

Jacqui’s Million.

Jacqui’s charity helps all people going through cancer, from children to adults. It focuses on and provides equipment and support for their comfort and care whilst going through treatment. This can be anything from chemo chairs and trolleys to teaching equipment, software and much more. Jacqui also offers peer support for patients and families to help them with any questions, concerns or guidance needed.

Check her website to find out more.

I believe in what Jacqui is doing, and I’m proud to be supporting her cause and the Leeds Cancer Centre. My beautiful Nanna Pam also had her cancer care and treatment there, and I know this would make her happy too.

I would ask if everyone who reads this and has been affected by cancer in any way if you could please donate even £1; we could get much closer to Jacqui’s goal of £1 million.

So please donate, and let’s do what we can to support and help each other in our hardest times (and every day).

Positivity, Love and Kindness is what we need in this world.
