We are fundraising on behalf of Heather Bryce Lahoda and her family.
At the end of July, Heather was admitted to the ER; she was experiencing distress from her liver, and upon further investigation, a mass was found in her abdomen. Alongside the mass, jaundice quickly took over her body and blood clots were discovered in her legs, creating discomfort in her lungs. This led doctors to be very concerned, and the initial assumption was that the mass was cancerous.
After more testing and biopsies, it has been confirmed that Heather has Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and her chemotherapy starts Monday, August 19th. While waiting for treatments to begin, Heather has also been affected by the COVID-19 virus and has been put on blood thinners to support her blood clots. On Monday, we are hoping to start the first of six chemotherapy sessions and reach a goal of once again living a cancer-free life.
This fundraiser is to support Heather with:
- Medical treatment costs
- Meals for Heather and her family members during her hospital stay
- Household bills while Heather and her family take time off work
- Post-hospital care and recovery resources
- Medical supplies for care throughout chemotherapy and recovery (gloves, Lysol, masks, etc)
The family has also requested that any questions be sent to Heather's children so she can focus on her recovery.
We will continue posting updates here as we receive them, and if you can donate, know that the Lahodas appreciate it! If you are not able to offer monetary contributions, please feel free to post a message, which can be shared with Heather directly :)
