If you know Heather, you know she’s the kind of person who carries the world for others. She does it with quiet strength, endless joy and a love that radiates to everyone she meets.

Her journey as a solo mom began in heartbreak when her husband, Bruce, passed away from cancer while she was still pregnant with Harvey. In the face of unimaginable loss, Heather chose to keep going for Harvey. She built a life of purpose around him, homeschooling him, growing a wellness business that has touched lives for over 11 years, and in recent years finding much joy teaching CPR and BLS with our team at CPR Choice - empowering others with life-saving skills.

But now, life has placed another hurdle in her path.

A recent sudden and very serious medical emergency required major surgery, a two-week hospital stay (the longest she and Harvey have ever been apart), and an ER visit shortly after returning home that led to a blood transfusion. These past weeks have been some of the hardest of Heather’s life.

The reunion with Harvey after those two long weeks was emotional - full of tears, hugs and quiet gratitude just to be together again. And though she is now home and focusing on healing, Heather faces additional treatment in the months ahead.

As the sole provider for her family, she is unable to work at her full capacity right now. Both her wellness business and her work teaching CPR and BLS are on hold due to post-op restrictions and the realities of upcoming treatments. This season will be a challenging one for them both.
