Hi! Jason is a loving and devoted Single father 3 beautiful boys Joshua Nathan and Hayden And has undergone lifesaving open heart surgery on the 7th of may 2018 and is slowly recovering with gods grace.
We are asking for your help please it’s not easy for me, but I have faith that god has brought you along my path to help us through this we will make it through this trail, God's .
Short Version
Not too long ago I was diagnosed with a birth defect heart condition. Long story short, the long story is below, I was told that I had an aortic blockage and that I was actually born with less valves in my heart than that of a normal baby. For most of my life my heart has functioned perfectly fine, up until recently. The lack of normal valves and contributing blockage have set me on a path to open heart surgery.
This surgery has allowed the doctors to bypass that valve a cabbage as well as an mechanical valve. I have been off work for 3 and 1/2 months now the doctors at have given me at least another month.
This is because I have had cataract surgery on my right eye and they are not Confident for me to drive which is what I do for a living .
As I am a contractor this means no work no money for rent money, grocery’s money; food money Basic bill money that means no money means no where for myself and the boys to live and nothing to eat for us.
Long Version
12 months ago I was asked by my endocrinologist to have a stress test which was going to tell me yes or no to a question of if I'm having problems. So one week before I had the stress test they did an ultrasound on my heart, which is standard practice, to check and make sure everything was okay; that’s when I found out that I had an issue with my heart.
The next week I had the stress test at Mona vale hospital with cardiologist Dr Elizabeth Robinson and when she had a look at the ultrasound she realised there was an issue, an aortic blockage, with the heart, so we went ahead and did the stress test but the results weren't what the results a 47 year old man should have. So Dr Robinson gave me a referral for an angiogram, which the secretaries at Mossman cardiology helped me to book and organise.
I then went and had the angiogram for Dr Robinson at Royal North Shore Hospital. Dr Robinson then booked an appointment for me to see her after I’d had the angiogram and as my health was okay at the time she said that she would see me in three months time, October 2017, as I wish you would do another ultrasound on the heart.
In October 2017 Dr Robinson assessed the current situation at the time and as my symptoms hadn't changed she put the ultrasound off to the end of January 2018. In January 2018 I went to see Dr Robinson again at Mosman cardiology. She did the ultrasound having a look at the heart again she said there’s a little bit more blockage there and as my symptoms have gone a little bit worse, but I was managing to cope okay, she said she will see me in six months time July 2018. Where she would be reassessing the situation and giving me a referral to a heart surgeon.
In March 2018 we were travelling to the Philippines for 9 days for my father-in-law‘s 80th birthday. So knowing that we will be flying I contacted Dr Robinson and spoke to her about my flying and making sure I was alright to fly to the Philippines and back. By the time I got off the phone conversation with her, she had obviously enquired as to how I was going and she said to me that by the end of this working week she would be sending a referral to the heart surgeon. I said to her I thought we were going to leave this until July 2018, she said due to my symptoms and my younger age of 48 years, it would not be doing the right thing by you and your family, if I leave this any longer. We have a good chance of longer life for you if we get onto this now.
About a week after I got back from the Philippines I had a call from Dr Robinson's secretary to see if the heart surgeons had been in contact with me. I advised the secretary that I hadn't heard from any heart surgeon, at that time learning that their name was Dr Marshman. After two hours I had phone call from Dr Marshman’s secretary organising an appointment to see Dr Marshman on Thursday, 20 April 2018.
After my consultation with Dr Marshman he determined that it would be 3 to 4 weeks before I had to have the surgery. So I filled out all the paperwork and then on Monday, 30 April 2018 I received a phone call from Royal North Shore hospital cardiology pre-op department requiring me to go in to the hospital on Tuesday, 1 May 2018 for pre-op as Dr Marshman wants to operate on Monday the7th of May 2018.
Again I just want to say how thankful I am for all my friends and family, for the support and also for those who are able to give even $5 to this GoFund Me page, even then. Your support is what keeps me going.
...so Thank You Jason and the Boys
