Baby Sawyers Medical Fund

Donation protected

My sweet sister Olivia and her Husband Shaun are expecting their 5th baby Sawyer to be born in July 2017. Her pregnancy started out rough with placenta previa, which eventually resolved. They recently found out some very upsetting news that their baby boy is going to be born with a pretty rare congenital heart defect called Truncus Arteriosis that affects 1 in 10,000 babies. Once baby Sawyer is born, he will need surgery within weeks to separate the blood vessels leading into his heart, we are wanting to raise funds for unknown medical expenses that aren't covered by insurance, multiple trips to and from Spokane WA to Sandpoint ID, as well as funds to allow Shaun to take time off to spend with Olivia and their children during the time when newborn Sawyer will be recovering from heart surgery. Thank you for your support and prayers, even the smallest donation will help them out. All funds will go to Olivia and Shaun to help with the extra medical expenses.

They are staying very strong and would never ask for money on their own, Shaun is working so hard to take care of their family and Olivia is currently working as well to help pay the bills and not sure how much longer she will be able to work with such a high risk pregnancy.

From Olivias FB page:"So here's the update on our sweet Baby boy since I know a lot of you have been anxiously waiting to hear anything... Baby Sawyer update: We found out today that Sawyer has both ventricles but there is another issue instead.. He has a major congenital heart defect called truncus arteriosus.. He only has one vessel that comes out as the main bridge of the heart instead of the two lower chambers having their own separate vessle. They did an amniocentesis where they stuck a long needle into my stomach to collect some amniotic fluid from around him to do some further genetic testing because his condition could be linked to other problems.. But the good news is that his heart is fixable with surgery, now we wait for the testing to come back and hope and pray that he has no other issues that can sometimes play along with that defect. He will be going right under for open heart surgery once he's born and I will be having to deliver at sacred heart. Its not the news we were hoping for... But the success rate with this surgery is very high, so we are trying to stay as positive as we possibly can through all of this.."
