DENTAL EMERGENCY
At the school Jasia Nakamoto and I are teaching at there are many families who need assistance. Unfortunately one of these families need urgent care due to extensive dental damage.
This sweet little girl who just turned 6 years old was playing with the teachers on her second day of school when she began motioning to her mouth, barely eating, and hardly smiling. This was strange because she is a very happy child who lives to give hugs and play. When we asked her to smile and we saw her mouth we were shocked. The majority of her teeth were black, broken, disintegrating, or just rotting nubs. We knew this wasn’t okay so we asked her older sister why her teeth are like this. What we found out is that the mother (33 years old), the eldest daughter (16), and the youngest daughter (6), all have this damage due to “iron water,” and a lack of medical care. When they left Iran with their father their water source was contaminated. By the time they received refuge in Greece the husband and father had passed away and the 3 ladies were left alone and in pain. The mother and youngest daughter are barely able to eat. We have made appointments to start work on all three of them but we need your help to be able to complete treatment on all of them.

MISSION TO GREECE: SUMMER 2022
Hey, my name is Victoria Nieves.
For those of you who know me and for those who don’t, Global Missions has been a cause that has been close to my heart for about as long as I remember.
So, when a teaching job became available to teach refugee students stationed in Greece it felt like an answer to my prayers, the fulfillment of God’s calling for my life. This summer I will be an Educational Missionary at Koinonia Education Center (KEC) in Athens Greece. I, Along with another lovely young lady Jasia Nakamoto. We have been voluntarily teaching subjects such as Art, English, Math, and Bible under the guidance of Fred and Kelly Shin and Peyman to about 30 students. Students who are refugees from countries such as Afghanistan and Iran. My goal is to meet their needs educationally, physically and spiritually. They have been through so much, these children need to experience color, fun, and love. As KEC is newly established nonprofit there are many needs this is why we rose funds to provide the students with school supplies, art supplies, headsets for their online classes, toys, basic essentials, and equip the teachers with teaching supplies.
KEC is a recently established Christian non-profit organization. It is a part of Grace Global Vision School (GGVS) which is an elementary and secondary K-12 private Christian School that is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Their Plan is to equip students academically, spiritually, physically, socially, and emotionally so they can succeed now and in the future wherever they go.
