HEARTS OF TALENT. CHANGING THE NARRATIVE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE.

Hearts of Talent is the anti knife crime youth programme that provides hope, initiates drive and a gives a reason for young people to believe in themselves by nurturing talent in song, rap, dance, spoken word and film making. 

London has recorded its worst-ever annual death toll from teenage homicides, with a total of 30 boys and young men killed in 2021. Over the last few years austerity has dramatically reduced youth services and cut the police force by 20 000 which has exacerbated the issue.

Hearts of Talent (HoT) aims to provide a part solution to knife crime and extreme violence by providing mentorship and support wrapped up in an exciting opportunity for 8-30 year olds to showcase creative talent. We're fundraising to run the annual talent competition which provides young people with mentorship and workshops to develop their talent, whilst supporting them in their emotional and  personal development.

Our long term goal is to establish a self sufficient performing arts business, for young people - run by young people and supported by industry professionals. 

It takes a village to raise a child, and our aim is to provide a circle of support for the many young people out there who are lacking encouragement and self belief to go follow their dreams, succeed and move away from the draw of gang culture. The Hearts of Talent final will be held in Wembley Stadium's Grand Hall later this year.

Our 2019 pilot called The Brent Factor, engaged with 330 young people and saved three from immediate personal threat.
