My name is Ngozi and I am fundraising for the children living with cancer and their mothers in Namibia who are residing at CHICA, an interim house for children living with cancer, managed by the Cancer Association of Namibia. I am staying at CHICA too after my 8 year old daughter was diagnosed with a relapsed Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia after three years of remission. I have stayed at Chica with other mothers who unfortunately had to give up their jobs in order to take care of their children. They struggle with basic necessities such as cosmetics and their need is what drove me to coming up with the project called “Hearts For Chica”. Funds will be used to cater for their basic necessities that the cancer association does not provide, which includes clothing, cosmetics and also plan small events for social and emotional support.
