Hearts for Amba
Donation protected
Hi all, meet Amba, East Passyunk’s favorite pup. You’ve likely seen her; she’s a combination of Falcor from the Never-Ending Story mixed with Larry David (in personality). I have created this fundraiser to support Amba in having a lifesaving open heart surgery in the Summer of 2024. While I obviously think the world of her, I know I am not alone. I’m always amazed by her magnetic energy, attracting friends and complete strangers every day.
During a routine check-up, a heart murmur was discovered which led to the diagnosis of Mitral Valve Disease (MVD), a degenerative condition impacting the flow of blood and causing Amba’s heart to be enlarged. Amba urgently needs a valve repair. Without it, congestive heart failure is imminent. While this surgery is standard care for humans, there are currently only 3 cardiothoracic veterinary centers in the world. Amba has a surgery date set for July 23rd in London at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC).
Amba is fortunate to have been given a date at RVC. While it’s all the way across the pond, it is a world renowned program that ensures the earliest possible surgery date for Amba (also half the price of the only US option). It’s a humbling experience to ask for support. If you are able, please consider a donation and help spread Amba’s story. I would be eternally grateful. Thank you!
