Help HeartField Complete our Yurt and Put Down our Roots!

Tax deductible
HeartField Learning Collective is a community of mentors who believe these times call for a new paradigm. Through story-telling, song, inquiry, play, creative exploration and immersion with nature, we learn how to be well together in community.

Here is a place of birthing new stories. Over the past decade, in different iterations, we mentors have been honing a practice of heart-centered, emergent, creative, playful, life-long-learning rooted with nature. Post-covid, we gathered together in a new way, as HeartField Learning Collective, to re-establish this heart work in light of the social, emotional and spiritual needs of children and families in these rapidly changing times. We believe that caring for and educating our children is a sacred practice.

Over the past 2 years, we've been piloting HeartField programs and have found a landing place on the beautiful HeartField Knoll in Greenbank, Washington on Whidbey Island, where, at the forest edge and under the watch of the Olympic Mountains, we are walking a new path together. With the generous donation of a 30-foot yurt that's now been raised by the loving hands of our wonderful community, we finally have a home for our work and are now seeking your support to complete the yurt and fully anchor in.

We have a generous donor who has kick started us off with $2500 and another donor who will match this $2500 if you will help us match their match. With these two kick start donation offers we have a foundation of $5000 to build from. Can you please help us meet our goal?!

Following a full year of outdoor learning in the Pacific Northwest(!), we are so grateful to have an indoor shelter. We have these beautiful bones to work with, and now we need to dress them up! Your support will be used to complete the floor, install a heating system, build stairs and a deck, construct a composting toilet, furnish the space, install regenerative landscaping, and dream in off-grid systems to sustain our work over time. This space is also not just for us, it's a community space and we look forward to opening it up to cross-pollinating events with our talented and gifted community members. Our hope is that having a multi-use space will provide additional income for HeartField, allowing us to keep our programming accessible and support land-stewardship. 10% of all donations will directly support families in need of financial assistance to attend HeartField programs.

All HeartField programs are offered on a Sliding Scale Fee model where all children are welcome with respect to a diversity of financial situations. Everyone benefits from learning in diverse community. Our Rooting Fund will help us establish a solid financial foundation specifically so we can provide accessible programing to a diversity of families now and into the future. 10% of all donations will support our Rooting Fund.

THANK YOU from HeartField Learning Collective including Bryn McAfee, Lauren Atkinson, Maisie Greer, Ariel Starlight, Andi Kopit, Kate and Bill Dussault, Don Green, Joe Italiano, Bert Bennehoff, Anne Marie Pember, our growing hive of mentors, Jr. mentors, volunteers, elders, children, and families.

Collectively and collaboratively, we offer year-round programming for a diversity of children and look forward to expanding our offerings to adult and multi-generational programming, workshops, and retreats. Your contribution of any size is much appreciated and will help us Root Down so we can grow!!
