Heartfelt Hope - DeNio Family
Donation protected
We are Rick DeNio’s work family. We’ve known Rick and his family for years, some of us for decades. Anybody who has met them knows they are kind and courageous people, who are always willing to help others. Rick was raised in Michigan and Rockville, Maryland. He is a die-hard “Michigan-and-Rockville-Anything fan” who also enjoys fishing and outdoor activities. He and his wife, Amy, have been married for over twenty-four years and are active members of the community, regular churchgoers, and caring to the core—when they found stray kittens in their yard, they adopted them! They are a truly incredible, loyal, loving, and caring family. They never ask for anything in return for their kind favors. They simply want to help others and will go out of their way to do so.
Yet, while they have been helping others, the DeNio family has been facing several heartbreaking challenges of their own these past few years. We are setting up this GoFundMe page to help them during these difficult times. All funds will go directly to Rick and Amy DeNio.

The most recent and heart-breaking tragedy that has stricken the DeNio family is the passing of Richard Jr. Who was taken away from them on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the age of twenty-seven. This family certainly knows loss, yet all parents know there is nothing more devastating to bear than the loss of a child, especially one at such a young age, in the midst of experiencing life.

Before the untimely passing of Richard Jr., the DeNio family received a terrible blow when Amy was diagnosed with stage IV cancer. In efforts to find a cure, the family has sought many doctors, traveled to several cancer centers, and even participated in clinical trials.

In the middle of the family’s battle with her cancer, Amy’s father, Buck Wells, who worked for Maryland Cast Stone for over thirty years, passed away. Yet, even in the face of all the heart-wrenching struggles they were saddled with in such a short period of time, Amy has never lost hope and refuses to give up on life. Despite the several roadblocks she faced during her treatments, she not only continues to fight, but also works full-time. Because she is so strong, so willing and determined to fight, she needs our prayers and continued support as she fights this long, hard, distressing battle.

The DeNio family has been hit with devastating events, one after another. It started in September of 2014, with the death of Richard A. DeNio, Rick’s father. Richard A. DeNio had served in the military and lived with Rick and Amy. He had been bedridden for almost eight years, suffering from a debilitating illness, before his death in 2014.

The DeNio family includes Rick and Amy, their 3 remaining children, and two grandchildren. Somehow, Rick and Amy have always made certain and managed to carve out time for each of them. With all the practices, activities, and events, they have always done their best to avoid disappointing any of the kids.

So now is our chance to help Rick and his family get through this rough time. Please come together with us and help show the DeNio family that we are here for them. Help us give the DeNio’s some much needed support by contributing and sharing this GoFundMe page with anyone you know.
