Mohammad was born in July, 2021 with a heart defect. He also suffers from Down’s Syndrome. His father, Ahmad Omid, sells fabric from a pushcart in Afghanistan, without access to quality healthcare. Mohammad has had 3 open heart surgeries, and the last surgery in November 2024 was for installation of a pacemaker. The device has failed and the child needs emergency surgery once again.
The family has borrowed from their relatives and has exhausted their meager resources. Due to the low quality of care in Afghanistan, the parents feel that his only hope is to seek treatment in a neighboring country with better healthcare. We estimate that the surgery and transportation expenses will be about $13,000 USD.
We are asking for support to fund another heart surgery for Mohammad. From one heart to another, any amount you can give would be appreciated. We will send the funds directly to the family when a treatment plan is in place. Thank you for your support and prayers.
