Heartfelt Help for Baby Jahsai's Recovery
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Sandy. My grandson, Jahsai, was born on 1/2/25 in a PICU at a hospital near his home. He was born 3 weeks premature due to a heart condition called Tetralogy of Fallout. Most cases require surgery to fix it.
On 1/9/25, Jahsai had to have open-heart surgery. He is a very strong little boy, and he came through with minor complications. On 1/10/25, they closed up his chest, and he started his healing journey! Although Jahsai developed some lung issues, his heart has been doing fine. They had to have his lungs tapped so they can clear them, so hopefully, they will remove the tubes in a few days.
Also, Jahsai was born with Hydrocephalus where fluid builds up deep into the brain cavities. Some cases require a shunt to be placed to release the fluid on the brain. Jahsai, of course, had to have a shunt, but because of his lungs, they placed a small box on top of his head under the soft spot to release any fluid until his lungs get stronger. Then they will place the shunt. This little soldier has a long road ahead. We are asking that your hearts be generous with love and prayers.
My daughter has remained strong through this all. She is a new mom and now has to juggle this heavy load with work and caring for this little one. We don’t know how long he will remain in the PICU, but they are saying about a month with his next surgery coming up. Hopefully, we can meet our goal and bring this new little family home.
