Dear Community,
My name is Patrick, and I am absolutely devastated.
On the 17th of June 2026 at 3:10 PM, two beautiful children — Katherine, 5 years old, and Harry, 14 months old — had their lives taken in a split second.
Their mother, Sok, was picking up Katherine from school. Katherine, who was in her first year of kindergarten, was excited to go home after just receiving an award.
As they were crossing the road together, heading back to the car, an oncoming vehicle suddenly struck both Katherine and the pram where Harry was sitting.
A mother not only lost a child — she lost both of her children, her only two children.
As I sit here at Westmead Children’s Hospital looking at these two precious souls and their mother, it is extremely difficult to comprehend.
As a parent myself, I cannot even begin to fathom the long road ahead for both the mother and father. Regardless of who is at fault, their journey to recovery will be incredibly difficult.
Everything is still under investigation, but I will continue to provide updates as I receive more information.
Thankfully, we live in a time where platforms like GoFundMe exist. I’ve created this fundraiser to help support this family who has been through the unimaginable. It doesn’t look like things will get any easier anytime soon — it’s a long road ahead, and they deserve all the help they can get.
As a community, I pray we can come together and ease some of their burden.
Any donation — big or small — will make a difference. Every cent and every dollar counts. They will forever be grateful.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Please kiss and hold your kids tight. Cherish every moment, because time with them is never promised.
God bless.
Update:
We just walked to the scene with her, and she showed us exactly what happened. I’m truly at a loss for words.
After spending a moment with her, I can tell you that Sok and Vundy are deeply grateful and completely overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from this community.
She is incredibly thankful for every single donation you’ve given. Every amount matters.
But no amount of money can ever ease the pain she’s carrying or bring them back. She’s blaming herself, and I don’t think it has fully sunk in yet. My heart breaks for her. No one — not even your worst enemy — should ever have to endure something like this.
