Kristen and Alex met in their late thirties and instantly knew they had found something special. After getting married in Mexico, they began a new chapter together, moving from Chicago to Arizona to start their lives as newlyweds. They spent their first year settling in, enjoying marriage, and dreaming about the future — including starting a family.

Living active, healthy lifestyles, Kristen and Alex were hopeful that conceiving would come naturally. But after six months of trying without success, they began to explore their options. Over the following year, they left no stone unturned — investing in holistic treatments like acupuncture, Mercier therapy, organic living, low-tox environments, and high-quality supplements. After a failed IUI and spending thousands on treatments, Kristen underwent surgery to investigate the possibility of endometriosis — a leading cause of infertility.

Doctors confirmed that Kristen had stage 2 endometriosis, along with fibroids that needed to be removed. Despite two surgeries and every effort to support fertility naturally, they are still on the path to parenthood with no baby yet.

IVF has now become their best hope for having a child. Unfortunately, fertility treatment is not covered by their insurance, and the financial strain is heavy. Kristen and Alex have already spent nearly $12,000 out-of-pocket, and a single round of IVF in Arizona costs approximately $18,000 — with only a 20–30% chance of success.

Thankfully, they discovered CNY Fertility, a clinic that offers IVF at a much lower cost. With CNY, they may be able to complete a round for around $10,000. However, because of Kristen’s endometriosis, additional medications may cost another $4,000 — and there’s always a chance more than one round may be needed.

Kristen is a teacher, and Alex is working hard to pay off debts, so this journey has already created significant financial stress.
