Heartbreak for the Townsend Family:

One morning Rhett inexplicably woke up without eye contact response, ashen skin and obvious signs that something was horribly wrong. Because of the illnesses that ran throughout his little body, he became septic which is causing his critical organs to shut down. The doctors shared with the family, that he is not expected to make it and likely will pass within the coming days. As the Townsends work together through this terrible reality, they need our help!

Josh and Lauren actively coach a variety of youth sports teams and volunteer in the community. On top of that Lauren is a social worker, it's in her human nature to help those who need it most. Those of us around this wonderful family encouraged Josh and Lauren to put their story out there as we want to help! Full of humility, they agreed.

Josh recently changed careers for a better work-life balance. Josh has already exhausted his paid time off during the course of Rhett's hospitalization and still the family must endure hospice and the journey of grief.

Josh, Lauren, and the rest of the kids appreciate your thoughts, prayers and any financial resources you may be able to spare. Let's help them heal as a family amidst the most difficult of times! At this point, the family is spending their last days and moments with Rhett, so please protect their time at home. Encouraging comments below are much appreciated!
