Heartbeat for Pam

Hi, my name is Alisa. I am starting this fundraiser on behalf of my dearest and best friend Pam. I have known her for 41 years. She is my non-biological sister, my best friend and my go-to person. I trust her with my life.

Since I can remember, Pam has always worked ridiculous hours. She has such an amazing work ethic. Sometimes I think she works too much. She hasn't had a vacation in over three years. Pam has never asked for help with anything. She is a self-sufficient woman who raised her beautiful daughter, Jasmine, on her own. She is fiercely proud and I admire and respect her for that.

Pam has been dealing with major health issues for 15-20 years that have now needed to be taken care of ASAP, but complications keep getting in the way.

Pam has a disease called MARFANS. MARFANS is a genetic condition that affects connective tissue which provides support for the body and organs. It can damage the blood vessels, heart, eyes, skin, lungs and the bones of the hip, spine, feet and rib cage. For Pam, it has effected her aorta. Pam has had to quit her job for her surgery for a complete aorta replacement. This is the riskiest surgery the University of Michigan offers. It is a 12-hour surgery. She already has had two open-heart surgeries. They have rescheduled this operation twice, but on Jan. 16, she underwent the surgery. During the surgery, there was a complication and they had to stop the operation and once again put it on hold. This was heartbreaking. Our spirits were crushed. Without this surgery, Pam will die. The issue now is with no job, her insurance will now be irrelevant. The expenses for the medical bills will be astronomical on top of her mortgage and daily living expenses.

I am asking on behalf of my best friend Pam, for any help you may be able to give, to a wonderful human, who is the most selfless, giving, deserving person.
