Heart for Harper

Just by looking at this beautiful little girl, you would NEVER even know this sweet angel has a long list of medical issues. This is Harper Reed and just by seeing pictures of her and her lovely family perhaps via facebook, you would never even realize the heavy cross that they are currently carrying. As I mentioned in a previous fundraising campaign, my passion is helping others to help others where there is a heavy burden or need.
My mission is called the LOVE ACTION MISSION!!
I started this mission because I believe when we hear other people's stories of medical issues or tragedies, we really, really have good intentions of wanting to help. However I believe that most of us will never follow thru on these good intentions.
I'm about ACTION and OBEDIENCE!
This little girl, Harper Reed, is only 17 1/2 months old. And my goal is to help raise $20,000 for her and her family. Ellie Reed, her mother, was my daughter, Noelle's preschool teacher in 2013. Since then I have watched her story unfold via facebook and honestly feel quite helpless since I live in a different state. Ellie is married to Nick and they also welcomed healthy twin girls, Shelby and Peyton, to their family on February 12, 2015. Thankfully they have insurance for Harper, however like all insurances, not everything is covered. On top of the burden, Nick recently was let go from his job as he was told "he was too focused on Harper". On July 25th, 2015, they will drive to Rochester, Minnesota and rent a house for 3 months and stay in MN while Harper recovers from her surgery at Mayo Clinic on July 31st along with paying a mortage and expenses on their house back home in Rockford, IL,, living expense, diapers for twins...the list goes on and on and on.
While at the Mayo Clinic, Harper will have a VERY, VERY extensive combination surgery: open heart surgery plus a trachea reconstruction. They will fix going to fix one of the holes in her heart, while she's on bypass for the throat surgery. Her other hole in her heart is too deep in the tissue. On top of her heart and trachea problems, Harper is currently 100% gtube fed, has no words, only has one working lung and a whole list of internal problems. The surgery could affect her vocal cords and her ability to speak.
Wow....wouldn't know all these medical issues just looking by looking at this sweet, smiling, little angel.
So HOW CAN YOU HELP?
There are MANY ways:
1. Prayers. I believe more than anything there is power in prayers. Pray for that they doctors have the wisdom to know what will be best for Harper. Pray that her surgery goes extremely well. And pray for Ellie and Nick to have the courage and strength during this difficult time.
2. Financial Support. This website has made it SO easy to help give financial support. Give whatever lies on your heart! I believe it is in giving that we receive.
3. Share this message with everyone! This is how the world gets out and the campaign grows.
