Good Morning World!! I’m BACK. After 7 years of procedures, surgeries, and setbacks that forced me from my gig with the Lion King National Tour, I’ve accepted an opportunity to produce and perform a 90-minute showcase at my home theatre, Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe in Sarasota, FL, on June 5 & 6, 2026. The show, 'Heart Wide Open, A Musical Lesson of Vulnerability' chronicles through song and multimedia my fight back to the stage after autoimmunity took away my ability to sing professionally.
These past years have been filled with challenges, but my faith in God kept me hopeful and determined to keep moving forward. This showcase is more than just a performance—it's a celebration of resilience, hope, and the power of never giving up on your dreams. I want to share my journey and inspire others who may be facing their own battles.
The biggest expense for this show is paying for the band, especially covering the cost of my musical directors who I’ll be flying in from Baltimore. There are also costs for musicians' fees, musical score preparation, theater rental, travel, technicians, and a videographer. It’s hard for me to ask for help. But since this aid helps me give to others, I don’t mind asking. Please help me cover these costs so I can share my story and music with the world again.
