As many know our son Wesley Prytherch is battling HLHS. Wesley has been in St.Louis Children’s Hospital on our second admission since December 17th 2019. Today marks 8 long weeks here. Wesley is scheduled for open heart surgery tomorrow morning which has a long recovery and it is a very risky procedure. When we are were at home Wesley went into heart failure and then went into respiratory arrest, he became lethargic and hypothermic. We took an ambulance to St.Johns and they worked on him for 4 or 5 hours until St. Louis Children’s got there. They were going to life flight but because of the snow that night they were only able to take him by ground. It took the crew 3 hours to get to us. They got Wesley stable enough for a transfer from Springfield to St.Louis they had worked on him for 3 hours here getting a central line placed before we could see him. It was all such a blur. Since then Wesley has put up one hell of a fight and has beaten a lot of odds and overcome so much. I know some think that we should have expected such a bad outcome because we got our diagnosis when I was pregnant but the truth is there is no knowing of the future. Congenital Heart Disease effects every 1 out of 100 it can happen to ANYONE. His heart condition was never caused by anything that Frank or I did. Him going into heart failure was never caused by something we did. His flow restrictor in his heart moved we’re guessing at home and it caused him to be over circulated and he had to much blood going into his lungs and it made his heart tired. Wesley suffered from a blood clot on the brain and has a small bleed. He suffered brain, kidney, liver and heart damage.  He is a very risky surgery but we can’t wait any longer he needs his heart repaired. Living in the hospital and going back and forth twice a week gets very expensive. We hate to ask for donations but we have had people want to donate and are finally making a go fund me so those that want to help can.
