I suffered from congestive heart failure for 10 years and was unable to maintain steady employment during that time. Over the years, I spent a total of about a year and a half in the hospital fighting to stay alive. On January 6th, I was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition. On February 21st, I received a heart transplant. I spent 6 months in cardiac care recovering. I am still in recovery today, dealing with nerve damage in both legs and feet, along with drop foot caused by the illness, hospitalization, and medications. When I tried to apply for disability, I was told I had not worked enough in the last 10 years to qualify. Much of that time, I was extremely sick and had no idea there were strict limits on work history requirements. As a result, I was denied support, and I am now struggling to stay afloat financially while continuing my recovery.

The funds raised will help me cover basic living expenses, including fuel for medical appointments. I live about two hours from my doctors, meaning a four-hour round trip every visit. The money will also go toward catching up on bills and covering essential costs, as I have already been relying on credit cards for groceries. I am also facing significant medical debt from my treatment and ongoing care.
