Hello, my name is Amanda. I am raising funds for Holly.

Holly is 15 years old and from Newcastle. Her mum is Katie and Holly's siblings are Emily and Bailey . Katie is a single mum to three kids.

Holly was diagnosed with Restrictive Cardiomyopathy in 2018. Her heart continued to weaken and in 2021 Holly received the gift of life in the form of a heart transplant.

Holly recovered well.

But in April 2022 Holly started to feel really unwell again. After 3 weeks of investigations , Holly was diagnosed with PTLD -Post-transplant lymphoproliferative disease. Or cancer as it widely known.

It's a type of cancer people who've had solid organ transplants can get.

The cancer is in Holly's neck, liver, abdomen and hips.

The specialists have had to reduce her anti-rejection meds to fight the cancer. A tricky task as you don't want to risk having the new heart become rejected by the body.

 

Holly is living with her mum Katie and her siblings at Ronald MacDonald House as commuting from Newcastle to Westmead is not possible. Holly's mum is not able to work. Bailey and Emily are with Holly and Katie in Sydney. All their lives have been upended once again while they fight to save Holly's life - again.

 

Can you please donate whatever you can to help Katie with the bills piling up from not being able to work and support three kids on her own. We'd also like to make the next 6 months as comfortable as possible for the family and knowing Katie can treat them to the occasional movie or meal out would be nice.
