❤Heart transplant for Nico❤

Where do I begin? This is silly boy you see in the picture is my son Nico. He is my whole world. And he needs a heart transplant. He suffers from sudden cardiac death. Heart failure. I am raising funds for him to make that happen. He's been a fighter since the beginning when he was just freeloading in my belly. Nico didn't move at all until he was 6.5 months in utero. You see I didn't have the best of luck with children and i wanted nothing more than to be a mother. I had quite a few miscarriages before him. And I had to give actual birth and funerals for those babies. So you can see why this one is very special to me. This young man was born may 14th 2009... at 8 months and only weighing in at 3lbs 14oz. Super tiny. They didn't even make clothes that small. He was a fighter right away. He never gave up on life and all it threw his way. Shortly after he was born, about 6 months old, he was hospitalized for small intestine stenosis. They had to remove some. Then when he turns 3 he decided to be a daredevil and do a flip breaking his femur. Then at 8 he had to have open heart surgery for an upper aortic stenosis. Now at 13 we go for our yearly check up with the cardiologist and they said he needed to go to christ children's hospital ICU immediately. His heart function was horrible about 65% the septum completely scarred and tough meaning his heart could not pump correctly. His heart was enlarged with fluid all around his heart and his left chamber was 3x the size of the right. And both valves were still moderately leaking. His heart beats on the left then right which is really odd. And when it pulses its not squeezing tight enough for blood to flow the way its supposed to. So far we have been in this hospital for 12 days straight and counting. They have done echos ekgs mri and an angiogram. They have inserted a chip in his heart so the drs can get his reading everyday. It comes with a pillow you lay on. Next phase was supposed to be implanting an ACID automatic implantable cardioverter defibrillator and also a ZOLL life vest wearable cardioverter defibrillator which was designed for patients at risk of sudden cardiac death. So that didn't happen today Becuase of our insurance... they are starting to reject care and items he needs to keep him going. Needless to say I'm terrified and upset Becuase he should not have to worry about these things. He's a 13 year old boy that's just about ready to start high school next year. He has way too many experiences to have and mistakes to make. So many 1sts that he needs to go through. I have worked really hard at raising a unique, funny, interestingly, intelligent, kind, loving, courteous and respectful young gentleman. Anyone would be proud to take him to meet their family. He is giving and helpful. He always gets complimented on how polite he is...I still can't belive were going through all of this. I look at my son and he looks fine. But I know that he could go at anytime. His heart could stop and my world would end. I don't ask for much but when it comes to my son and truly life or death then I will do whatever it takes to make sure he doesn't suffer and has everything he needs. This whole process is unreal. Just the transplant alone is a little over a million dollars. And were not even there yet. After we get these devices he has to start wearing them everyday for 2 to 3 months. Then he can have the defibrillator implanted and 2 peace makers one for each side of his heart. And if he makes it through all that he can wait for the transplant. You see insurance companies have rules and their ways of wanting things done. So we have to exhaust all avenues and then we can get his new heart. So any donations are truly appreciated. I am out of work right now thank goodness so I can be with him. And we only have 1 vehicle to share and get him back and forth to appointments but that's a whole other story. So if you know anyone with a decent vehicle for sale at a bargain price please let me know. These bills are going to be insane and if the insurance keeps giving us a hard time about things I will have to pay out of pocket. The vest alone costs a fortune then add the defibrillator and the fact that it's invasive along with anesthesia etc. You get my drift. I don't ask for things and I'm allays there when you need me. I'd give you the shirt off my back and probably the last few dollars and change in my pocket. But this is not for me at all. This is for Nico to get a new heart
❤ He is my whole world. ♥️
