For the past six years, my husband has been living in a painful state of uncertainty as we wait for his immigration status to be resolved in Canada. What should have been a straightforward process turned into a nightmare when an immigration consultant mishandled his file, causing years of delays and forcing us to start all over again. The emotional and financial toll has been enormous, but we have tried to stay strong for our two young daughters, ages 5 and 2, who mean the world to us.
Recently, our world was shaken even more. My husband suffered a massive heart attack — doctors discovered that his arteries were 100% blocked, and he needed emergency open-heart surgery to survive. Those moments in the hospital were the most terrifying of my life. Seeing him connected to machines, wondering if he would ever come home to hold our girls again, was a pain I can’t put into words. Thankfully, the surgery saved his life, but his road to recovery will be long and difficult.
Because of his health and immigration status, my husband cannot work right now, and I have become the sole provider for our family. I work as hard as I can, but my income is not enough to cover all of our living expenses and the growing pile of medical bills. The stress of trying to hold everything together — caring for our daughters, supporting my husband through recovery, and dealing with the uncertainty of his immigration case — has been overwhelming.
We are a loving, hardworking family who just wants the chance to live a normal, stable life together. My husband is a kind and devoted father who dreams of being healthy again so he can play with his girls, take them to school, and build a better future for them. But right now, we need help to make that possible.
Any amount you can give — no matter how small — will go directly toward his medical expenses, recovery needs, and helping our family stay afloat during this very difficult time. Your generosity will not only ease our financial burden but also give us the strength to keep moving forward with hope.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any support you can offer. Your kindness means more than words can express.
