Hi, I’m Nelbert Abella, currently in Quebec for six years now. I am helping my nephew Jarell Abella, 19 y/o, computer science student and consistent Dean’s List in the Philippines, who needs heart surgery called mitral valve replacement as soon as possible. A few months ago, his father came back from Ireland to get his mom after the long wait of processing the immigration papers. His parents, and my two nephews, were very happy about it, but unbeknownst to them, an adversity was on its way. A few months after his parents left, Jarell’s health started to deteriorate and he was diagnosed with this illness. He was initially diagnosed with rheumatic heart disease, mitral regurgitation r/o infective endocarditis, and then later advised to undergo mitral valve replacement as soon as possible. His parents, who have just started their new life in Ireland, still don’t have enough savings for the surgery, which is estimated to be 1.4 million pesos or roughly 34,000 CAD. Any amount you spare will be much appreciated by us and this bright kid.

J'aide mon neveu Jarell Abella, 19 ans, étudiant en informatique et régulièrement inscrit au palmarès du doyen aux Philippines, qui a besoin d'une opération cardiaque appelée remplacement de la valve mitrale au plus vite. Il y a quelques mois, son père est revenu d'Irlande pour chercher sa mère après une longue attente pour le traitement des documents d'immigration. Ses parents et mes deux neveux étaient ravis, mais à leur insu, une épreuve les attendait. Quelques mois après le départ de ses parents, la santé de Jarell a commencé à se détériorer et on lui a diagnostiqué cette maladie. On lui a d'abord diagnostiqué une cardiopathie rhumatismale, une régurgitation mitrale et/ou une endocardite infectieuse, puis on lui a conseillé de subir un remplacement de la valve mitrale au plus vite. Ses parents, qui viennent de commencer leur nouvelle vie en Irlande, n'ont toujours pas assez d'économies pour l'opération, dont le coût est estimé à 1,4 million de pesos, soit environ 34 000 $ CA.
