- I
I am a 76 year olf grandmother recovering from open heart surgery and caring full time for my adult daughter and granddaughter both of whom live with disibilities. I am living on a pension that barely covers rent and essential medical costs. I am asking for help to stabilise our situation and create some security fot my girls
After escaping a violent situation, we are living in hiding for safety. Rent has doubled since CIVID and we now pay pay $720 a fortnighy. I receive around $1,300 pension per fortnight and most of it is gone as soon as it arrives.
Our electricity costs are very high due to essential medical cooling. Even though i am on a hardship plan and pay $120 per fortnight the debt has grown to over $4,000 and continues to rise. Our pharmacy costs are more than $150 each month necessary medications.
I lost my eldest daughter to swine flu, she was in a coma for five and a half weeks before she succumed to that evil desease. She left behind her small boy who i provide for as much as i can with clothing outings technology etc. He goes between us and his father who is not a good provider.
I have applied for available grants, subsidies and support payments in Australia. My superannuation has been exhausted trying to keep us afloat. At 76 recovering from major heart surgery i can no longer rebuild savings
The goal of $35,000 would allow me to clear our electricity debt, prevent further arrears, cover urgent medical and living costs and create a modest safety net for my daughter and granddaughter.
My greatest wish is to know they will not face immediate crisis if something happens to me.
If donations exceed this goal, any additional funds will be placed into a protected account for their long term housing and medical security.
It is very difficult for me to ask for help but i can no longer manage this alone.
Any support would mean more than words can express
